The Houghton Regis Heritage Society is delighted that the Town Mayor, Cllr Elaine Cooper, unveiled the Brandreth Information Board in Houghton Hall Park on the 19th September. She said:
“I am pleased to be here today for the unveiling of the Brandreth Board, I have been aware of the Brandreth Name for some time but to be honest I knew very little about the family history and its association with the village. I appreciate the Heritage Societies hard work and effort in putting the material together.
In the 17th Century Houghton Regis was a small village, it had a Church a few dwellings, a pub, the Red House and Houghton Hall which was a building of great prestige.
Visitors young and old to this beautiful Park can now have an insight into the surrounding history. I will now unveil the Brandreth Board.”
